Categories and Repertoire 2026 Competition 1. Category – Participants born in 2008 and younger 1st Round: a) J. S. Bach: any one or two movements from solo Partitas, or the outer movement from W. A. Mozart's concerto (KV 216, 218, 219) with cadenza, or the outer movement from J. Haydn's concerto b) Compulsory piece: B. Smetana – From the Homeland – 2nd duo in G minor or B. Martinů: Rhythmic Etudes – 2 etudes (selection) 2nd Round: 1st or 2nd and 3rd movement from the major violin concerto (contemporary work is also acceptable) and/or a virtuoso piece (selection) with a duration of up to 25 minutes. 2. Category – Participants born from 2007 to 1998 1st Round: a) J. S. Bach: any two movements from solo Sonatas or Chaconne (Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004) or the outer movement from W. A. Mozart's concerto (KV 216, 218, 219) with cadenza. b) Compulsory piece: V. Příhoda: Stimmung, Capriccio, Romance Elegiaque, Pink Cavalier – waltz (selection) 2nd Round: 1st or 2nd and 3rd movement from the major violin concerto (it can also be a contemporary work and/or a virtuoso piece (selection) with a duration of up to 25 minutes. Festival of Talents 1st Category - Participants born in 2019 and younger (single round) Any two pieces of contrasting character with a duration of up to 7 minutes. 2nd Category - Participants born in 2018 – 2017 (single round) Any two pieces of contrasting character with a duration of up to 7 minutes. 3rd Category – Participants born in 2016 – 2015 (two rounds) 1st Round: any piece from the Baroque or Classical musical period up to 6 minutes, 2nd Round: any piece from the Romantic period to the present up to 7 minutes 4th Category – Participants born in 2014 – 2013 (two rounds) 1st Round: any piece from the Baroque or Classical musical period up up to 6 minutes, 2nd Round: any piece from the Romantic period to the present up to 10 minutes 5th Category – Participants born in 2012 – 2011 (two rounds) 1st Round: any piece from the Baroque or Classical musical period up up to 8 minutes, 2nd Round: any piece from the Romantic period to the present up to 15 minutes 6th Category – Participants born in 2010 – 2008 (two rounds) 1st Round: any piece from the Baroque or Classical musical period up up to 10 minutes, 2nd Round: any piece from the Romantic period to the present up to 20 minutes
